Here comes another 7-inch tablet. Huawei has quietly revealed the MediaPad 7Lite tablet running Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. Compare to the original MediaPad 7, this Lite version tablet gets downgraded specs, and of course lower price. It is powered by a Cortex A8 1.2GHz processor with 1GB of RAM and is able to handle Full HD 1080p video playback.
The MediaPad 7Lite boasts a 7-inch 1024×600 touchscreen, a 3.2 Megapixel camera and a 0.3 Megapixel front-facing camera for video chat. The tablet is 3G-capable supporting HSDPA 3.6Mbps / UMTS 3G mobile networks. You can also find Bluetooth 3.0, WiFi 802.11b/g connectivity. The 8GB internal storage may not be enough for storing music and movies, but up to 32GB microSD can be used to provide more spaces.

Asus’ TAICHI is a dual-screen notebook/tablet hybrid running Windows 8. Available in 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch models, the TAICHI is powered by Intel’s Ivy Bridge Core i7 processor. They have Super IPS+ Full HD LED-backlit displays on both sides of the lid, with a touchscreen outside. When closed, the TAICHI is a multitouch tablet with stylus supports. Open the lid to reveal the full-size QWERTY keyboard and it becomes an Ultrabook.
The TAICHI is powered by a Core i7 processor, 4GB of RAM, and sports SSD storage. It supports dual-band WiFi 802.11n connectivity and features two cameras.

Panasonic’s Eluga Live P-08D is a 10.1-inch Android tablet for NTT docomo. Powered by TI’s OMAP4460 dual-core 1.2GHz processor, the tablet has 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. It features a 10.1-inch 1280×800 touchscreen display and a 1.3 Megapixel front camera. The device is IP57 for water- and dust-resistance.
The Eluga Live supports GPS, Bluetooth and WiFi as well as DLNA wireless connectivity, and supports HSPA mobile network as well. It includes SRS TruMedia HD sound enhancement and has a microSD/SDHC card slot. A 6560mAh is equipped for long battery life.

Using a unique enclosure conversion kit, the MacBook Pro is transformed into a sleek touch tablet computer. The new ModBook Pro is based on Apple’s new 13.3-inch MacBook Pro system and is equipped with Wacom digitizer with 512 levels of pen pressure sensitivity to deliver a highly sensitive pen interface. It comes with battery-less digitizer pen with two programmable side buttons and a digital eraser. There is a built-in pen garage with a magnetic catch to securely hold the pen.

Accrording to the company, the transformation is achieved using the ExoConnect system, which is ‘the primary high-speed connection linking the Modbook Pro components to one of the MacBook Pro’s two standard USB 3.0 ports’ for seamless integration. The ModBook Pro will be released in Fall.

Archos introduces its new ELEMENTS series of entry-level Android tablets. The first model to be released is the 9.7-inch 97 Carbon, and the company will launch 7-inch and 8-inch models later. The device runs Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich on a 1GHz processor and 1GB of RAM. It is capable of Full HD 1080p video playback.
The 97 Carbon comes with a 9.7-inch IPS LCD touchscreen with 5 point multitouch and 1024×768 resolution, a 2 Megapixel main camera and a 0.3 Megapixel front-facing camera. It has HDMI output for showing media content on a HDTV. The 9.7-inch Android device supports WiFi 802.11n connectivity and has USB 2.0 port. If the 16GB internal memory is not enough, simply add a microSD/SDHC card up to 32GB.
The 97 Carbon has a slim profile measuring just 0.45-inch thick and weighing 21.8oz, and a aluminum finish. It will be released in July for $249.99.

Skytex introduces two new Android tablets, the 9.7-inch Protos and the 7-inch Gemini, both running on the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system. They are powered by a 1.2Ghz ARM Cortex A8 processor, Mali 400 GPU, and 1GB of RAM. 8GB of internal storage is probably not enough for you to store your music, video, games and apps, but you can use up to 32GB of microSD/SDHC memory card.
The Protos comes with a 9.7-inch IPS touchscreen with 4:3 aspect ratio, a 5 Megapixel main camera and a 2 Megapixel front-facing camera, while the Gemini has a 7-inch touchscreen 16:9 touchscreen with rubberized slip-proof coating that is ideal for gaming, and a 2 Megapixel camera. Both models have HDMI output and are able to display 1080p and 3D content to a big screen HDTV, and support Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity.
The Protos and Gemini will be released in July and comes with free 5GB cloud storage. The larger Protos will come in either glossy black or white.

Genius launches the EasyPen M610XA pen tablet with a 6×10-inch working area for drawing and handwriting. The tablet features 4000 lip accuracy and sensitivty, 200 report rate, and 1024 level pressure sensitivity. It has four express keys for undo, eraser, zoom in and zoom out, and a pen clip for easy storage; and software shortcut keys for easy control.
The M610XA works on Windows XP/Vista/7 and Mac OS X 10.4 or above. It Adobe Photoshop Elements for easy photo editing and Corel Painter Essentials 4 for drawing and painting, as well as Pen Drawe, Pen Sign and Pen Toolbar.

At the Google IO Keynote, Google expands its Nexus family, introducing the Nexus 7 tablet running the latest Android 4.1 Jelly Bean operating system. Made by Asus, the 7-inch device is powered by NVIDIA’s quad-core Tegra 3 processor and 1GB of RAM. It is available with 8GB or 16GB internal storage and has NO memory card slot.
As Google Play begins selling movies, TV shows and magazines, the Nexus 7 is more a competitor toAmazon’s Kindle Fire. Starting at $199.00, the tablet get a 7-inch 1280×800 HD IPS touchscreen display with scratch-resistant Corning glass, and a 1.2 Megapixel front-facing camera. It supports WiFi 802.11b/g/n, GPS, Bluetooth as well as NFC for Android Beam; and sports magnetometer, gyroscope, accelerometer as well as microphone and speakers.
The Nexus 7 comes with 4325mAh battery providing up to 8 hours of active use. It measures 198.5 x 120 x 10.45mm and weighs 340g. Coming in mid-July, the 8GB model costs $199.99, and the 16GB version sells for $249.

Asus is going to release in the US next month its Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 high-end Android tablet. One of the main selling point of this 10.1-inch device is its Full HD 1920×1080 Super IPS+ touchscreen with LED-backlit and 600-nit brightness. The screen is protected by Gorilla Glass. The new Transformer Pad, intended to deliver high performance, is equipped with the most powerful chip at the moment. The 3G+WiFi model is boosted by Qualcomm MSM 8260A Snapdragon S4 Krait Dual-core 1.5Ghz processor, while the WiFi-only version sports NVIDIA’s Tegra 3 T33 quad-core 1.6GHz CPU. It has 1GB of DDR3 RAM and 32GB or 64GB internal storage.
The Infinity TF700 has a 8 Megapixel auto focus camera with F/2.2 aperture, LED flash and 1080p Full HD video recording, and a 2 Megapixel front camera for video chat. It supports Bluetooth 3.0, GPS and WiFi 802.11b/g/n connectivity and offers micro HDMI 1.4a output. There are built-in stereo speakers with SonicMaster sound enhancement and a microSD card slot. Its battery allows up to 9.5 hours of use.
Asus will also release the multi-functional Mobile Dock to add a keyboard and multitouch touchpad to the TF700. It also adds a SD card reader and a USB port. The dock is also an external battery for the tablet, adding 5 hours of battery life. According to Asus, Infinity’s mobile dock will work with Transformer Prime (but Prime’s dock is not compatible with Infinity).
The Transformer Pad Infinity TF700 will be shipped with Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich with Polaris Office pre-loaded. It comes in Amethyst Gray and Champagne Gold colors. The price will be $499 for 32GB and $599 for 64GB model, and the dock will be available separately for $149.
